How to garden with kids, with Bri Brunner, community garden activist from Moms2tables
If you’ve always wanted to try gardening with your kids, this is the episode for you! We are joined by the fantastic Bri Brunner, who is a mom, volunteer, and community garden activist, as well as the force behind the Moms2Tables account on Instagram. Bri’s journey into gardening started right after she received a serious diagnosis for her kid, and has brought so many benefits.
Tune in to hear:
- How a recommendation from an occupational therapist changed Bri’s life
- The developmental changes she’s seen in her kid since he started gardening with her
- How gardening has been therapeutic for Bri herself, as she dealt with her son’s medical challenges
- Why Bri choose to grow plants that are rare, bright and fun
- How to start small, and avoid things that can be intimidating (like seeds! Raised beds!)
- Why we need to accept loss as a normal part of gardening
